Repatriation from Palestine to Poland
We organise bringing the deceased from Palestine to Poland: documents from the country of death, Polish permits and transport of the body or urn.

- Certificate: the Polish consul confirmed in your case. The export permit comes from the authorities of the country of death.

- The body is carried by air as air cargo. We agree the arrival airport and the handover point in Poland with the family.

- The starosta and the consul have up to 3 days for their documents (Article 14(5) of the Act on Cemeteries). We give the full timing once the documents from Palestine are collected.

Procedure: Palestine
Poland is not a party to the 1973 Strasbourg Agreement on the Conveyance of Corpses, so bringing a body from Palestine always requires the Polish consul's certificate.
Documents from Palestine are authenticated by legalisation if a Polish office asks for it (the country is not a party to the Hague Convention, HCCH, as of 13 October 2026).
Palestine: Ramallah and Tel Aviv
An Office of the Representative of the Republic of Poland to the Palestinian National Authority operates in Ramallah, and according to its page consular matters for the Palestinian area are handled by the Consular Department of the Polish Embassy in Tel Aviv. This means the certificate for bringing remains or ashes home is issued in a different country from the one where the death occurred.
For that reason we plan from the start how the documents from the place of death reach Tel Aviv and how they return to the family. We confirm the certificate requirements of that post and of the local authorities in your case before anything is sent. We organise assembling the documents, contact with the embassy and transport to Poland. Before any trip by the family to the place, it is worth checking the current MFA warnings for travellers, as the situation in the region changes quickly.
