Funeral in Poland

When the coffin or urn arrives in Poland, the family needs help on the spot. We organise the handover and, if you wish, the funeral, and the coordinator stays in touch to the end.

Handover in Poland

We agree the place and time of the handover with the family: a funeral home, a chapel, a cemetery or another agreed place. A coffin brought from abroad is not opened once it is closed; the exception is opening it at the crematorium for cremation.

Organising the funeral

If you wish, we organise the ceremony and the burial: arrangements with the cemetery and the parish or a master of ceremonies, the setting and wreaths. We agree the scope and the price with you before we start.

The funeral allowance from ZUS or KRUS is PLN 7,000 if the death occurred on or after 1 January 2026; the application is submitted within 12 months of the date of death. We help prepare the bills needed for the application.

Frequently asked questions

Can a coffin brought from abroad be opened?

The rules forbid opening the coffin once it is closed. The exception is opening it at the crematorium if a body brought from abroad is to be cremated.

Is a funeral allowance available?

The allowance from ZUS or KRUS is PLN 7,000 for a death on or after 1 January 2026. Whether you are entitled to the allowance in a specific situation, including a death abroad, is decided by ZUS or KRUS.

Yes. Each service can be ordered separately.
