Repatriation from Singapore to Poland
We organise bringing the deceased from Singapore to Poland: documents from the country of death, Polish permits and transport of the body or urn.

- Certificate: the Polish Embassy in Singapore. The export permit comes from the authorities of the country of death.

- The body is carried by air as air cargo. We agree the arrival airport and the handover point in Poland with the family.

- The starosta and the consul have up to 3 days for their documents (Article 14(5) of the Act on Cemeteries). We give the full timing once the documents from Singapore are collected.

Procedure: Singapore
Poland is not a party to the 1973 Strasbourg Agreement on the Conveyance of Corpses, so bringing a body from Singapore always requires the Polish consul's certificate.
Documents from Singapore are authenticated with an apostille if a Polish office asks for it (the country is a party to the Hague Convention, HCCH, as of 13 October 2026).
Singapore: a doctor registers the death through the ICA
In Singapore consular matters are handled by the Polish Embassy in Singapore. A visit is arranged by email, documents can be submitted in person or by post, and the page has an English version. Before documents are submitted we check that copies and stamps are complete, and we inform the family of every step.
On the Singapore side a death is registered automatically by the doctor who certifies it online in the system of the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), and the family does not have to report anything at an office. The doctor needs the deceased's identity document, for example an NRIC, a FIN card or a passport. The digital death certificate is downloaded by the next of kin from the LifeSG portal within 30 days of certification, and the ICA no longer issues paper certificates. We watch that deadline, because with the downloaded certificate we move to the Polish part: the starosta's permit, the consul's certificate and air transport.
