Repatriation from Nepal to Poland

- We will quote the price once we know the details.
Procedure: Nepal
Poland is not a party to the 1973 Strasbourg Agreement on the Conveyance of Corpses, so bringing a body from Nepal always requires the Polish consul's certificate.
Documents from Nepal are authenticated by legalisation if a Polish office asks for it (the country is not a party to the Hague Convention, HCCH, as of 13 October 2026).
Nepal: registering a foreigner's death
Nepal falls under the Polish Embassy in New Delhi, which also covers India, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. A visit is arranged by email, and documents can be submitted in person or by post. Before documents are submitted we check that copies and stamps are complete, and we inform the family of every step.
In Nepal the death of a foreigner can be registered. According to the Nepali Ministry of Home Affairs the papers needed are proof of the deceased's nationality, a police report and a hospital report if the person died in hospital. Alternatively, a certified document and recommendation from the deceased's embassy or consulate in Nepal can be submitted. The person reporting may be a parent, spouse or child of the deceased. The Polish embassy in Delhi additionally requires a certificate from the competent sanitary authority that the death was not caused by an infectious disease. We prepare these documents in sequence, so that air transport does not wait for one missing paper.
The Polish consul's certificate
The certificate is issued by the consul of the mission named on gov.pl: the Polish Embassy in New Delhi.
How to get them: the starosta's permit and the consul's certificate.
