How Much Does It Cost to Bring a Body Home to Poland
The price depends on the country, the city, the documents and the type of transport. There is no rush: we agree everything with you before we start.
We calculate the price for each case. Tell us the country and the city by phone, in a messenger or through the form below.
We will quote the price once we know the details.
What we take into account in the quote
- One coordinator from the first phone call to arrival
- The necessary documents, translations and apostilles, if required
- Preparation of the body and a coffin that complies with transport rules, and for ashes, the requirements for the urn
- The type of transport (road or air) and the handover place in Poland
What the price depends on
- The country and city where the death occurred
- Body or ashes
- Road or air transport
- The documents and translations needed
- A funeral in Poland, if you need one
How we agree the price
Before we start, we agree the price and the exact scope of services with you.
If you want to compare options, for example bringing the body home or cremation on the spot and transport of the urn, we will give you the price of each.
Who can help with the costs
If the deceased had travel insurance or other insurance covering death, the insurer may cover the cost of transport. It is worth checking the policy and reporting the death as soon as possible.
The funeral allowance from ZUS or KRUS is PLN 7,000 if the death occurred on or after 1 January 2026 (Act of 9 May 2025, Dz.U. 2025 item 718). The application must be submitted within 12 months of the date of death. Whether the allowance is due in your situation is ultimately decided by ZUS or KRUS.
The Polish consulate does not cover the cost of transporting a body (according to information from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on consular assistance).
