Repatriation from Palau to Poland

- We will quote the price once we know the details.
Procedure: Palau
Poland is not a party to the 1973 Strasbourg Agreement on the Conveyance of Corpses, so bringing a body from Palau always requires the Polish consul's certificate.
Documents from Palau are authenticated with an apostille if a Polish office asks for it (the country is a party to the Hague Convention, HCCH, as of 13 October 2026).
Palau: the embassy in Manila and the Micronesia district
Palau falls under the Polish Embassy in Manila, which also covers the Philippines, Micronesia and the Marshall Islands. A visit is arranged by email with the embassy, and documents can be submitted in person or by post. The page has an English version, and according to it documents do not require translation into Polish. Before documents are submitted we check that copies and stamps are complete, and we inform the family of every step.
Palau is a group of islands in the Pacific, so the deceased or the urn can return to Poland only by plane. The order of steps is always similar: a local document confirming the death and the local authorities' consent to take the remains out of the country, in Poland the starosta's permit, the consul's certificate, and finally booking the transport. We plan the route and connections in advance, because they usually decide how many steps have to be taken along the way. We clarify the detailed requirements of this country's authorities for your specific case on request.
The Polish consul's certificate
The certificate is issued by the consul of the mission named on gov.pl: the Polish Embassy in Manila.
How to get them: the starosta's permit and the consul's certificate.
