Cremation is common in Vietnam, and some families choose it because bringing an urn home is simpler than a body's repatriation from Vietnam. We arrange cremation only together with transporting the urn to Ukraine.
30-second summary.
“You were always available, whatever the time…” — Віта Х. “Everything was organised with great dignity, professionally and with attention to every detail.” — Тамара Ю. “Every question was resolved promptly, with respect and attention to detail.” — Olha B. “…your support, compassion, sense of responsibility and professionalism meant a great deal to us.” — Ірина Б. “It all went quickly and professionally…” — Оля К. The family makes the decision. When a foreigner dies in Vietnam, the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs is notified and works with the embassy of the country of citizenship and the relatives. If the family is in Ukraine, our partners in Vietnam act under a power of attorney with an apostille and a Vietnamese translation. We check the exact requirements of the specific crematorium on the spot.
Vietnamese sanitary regulations limit how long a body can be kept before cremation: up to 48 hours without refrigeration, up to 7 days at temperatures up to 4 °C, and longer only at −10 °C or below. Because of this, cremation is scheduled within the first few days, while the documents for the urn are prepared in parallel.
The crematorium sets the fee for the cremation itself. We do not quote separate figures. Transporting the urn to Ukraine costs from €1,800; the full amount including cremation is fixed in the contract.
Under Vietnamese rules, ashes must be transported in a container that is leakproof, waterproof, and will not break in transit. The crematorium seals the urn. We check the airline's specific requirements for the urn when booking the flight.
At the Vietnamese border, the ashes are declared to the quarantine service (Form 11 to Decree 165/2026) to obtain a quarantine certificate.
At the Ukrainian border, the following documents are required for the urn:
Starting from September 11, 2026, Vietnamese documents are certified with an apostille and translated into Ukrainian. For details, see: customs clearance for an urn.
