Cremation in Romania
There is no working crematorium in the Republic of Romania, so we arrange cremation in Oradea: paperwork, transport and bringing the urn to the family.
What the service includes
Documents in Romania and the export permit, hygienic preparation of the body, and cold-room storage.
Transport by hearse to the crematorium in Oradea and back, the farewell and service in Chișinău, the urn handed to the family, and burial of the urn with the permit obtained.
Optionally: sending the ashes abroad, a memorial diamond made from the ashes, or the Tree of life service.
We handle everything
We do everything ourselves: documents, translations and apostille, the morgue, cremation and delivery of the urn to your town. The family deals with one coordinator.
Price: from 800 €, with the urn delivered to your town.
Payments to outside bodies (morgue, state fees) are on a separate invoice, with a receipt.
How it works
We take in the deceased, tell you which documents are needed and obtain them. The farewell takes place in Chișinău, and a relative may travel with the vehicle.
The process takes at least two days. The cost is set individually, on request. The distance to Oradea is about 700 km.
The road to Oradea and the paperwork of two countries
Oradea is in western Romania, about 700 km from Chișinău, and the route runs through Romania. A relative may travel with the vehicle.
Romania is not a party to the Strasbourg Agreement on the transfer of corpses, so local rules and the requirements of the Republic of Romania apply. One advantage: under the treaty between the Republic of Romania and Romania on legal assistance (1996, Art. 22), documents issued by the authorities of one country are valid in the other without any legalisation. The Romanian documents from the crematorium, including the cremation certificate, therefore do not need an apostille.
What stays in Romania: the death documents, the export permit, the farewell and service in Chișinău, and, on return, the handing over of the urn and the permit for its burial.
The decision to cremate is taken by the persons entitled to do so, under the rules of the country. At the first contact we tell you which documents need your signature.
Moldova has no crematorium, so the choice between Oradea and Odesa depends on the distance and the documents required. The cost is set individually, on request, and the process takes at least two days.
