Cremation abroad
As far as we know, there is currently no crematorium in the Republic of Romania, so cremation takes place abroad, usually in the country where the person died. We help arrange it and bring the ashes home.
What we arrange
Arranging cremation with a crematorium in the country of death through a local funeral service, the documents required there, the cremation certificate, an urn and transport of the ashes to Romania.
Cremation is a family decision. We explain the options calmly and do not push you either way; repatriation of the body remains possible.
We handle everything
We do everything ourselves: documents, translations and apostille, the morgue, cremation and delivery of the urn to your town. The family deals with one coordinator.
Payments to outside bodies (morgue, state fees) are on a separate invoice, with a receipt.
How it works
Each country has its own rules for cremation, including the documents and consents required. The local funeral service applies for the cremation, and we coordinate the steps and the documents for the Romanian side.
After cremation, the ashes travel home in the same way as described on the page about the transport of ashes. We will quote the price once we know the details and confirm the timeline once we have the documents.
